Work with Maine

Maine CAN re-open to visitors again. Safely.

Work With Maine is a collaboration of hospitality businesses working together to help save Maine jobs and businesses by re-opening in a safe and responsible manner.

Like you, we believe that Maine’s tourism industry can re-open without unreasonable restrictions that will have long-term impacts on one of Maine’s most vital economic lifelines. We have a plan for doing it, we just ask the administration to Work with ME.

We’re asking the people in charge to trust the people who have driven Maine’s tourism economy for decades. We can do this safely, and we’re ready to open our doors.

The Economics of it All

In 2018, Maine’s hospitality sector had a statewide economic contribution, including multiplier effects, of an estimated $6.9 billion in output, 79,000 full- and part-time jobs, and $2.2 billion in labor income, according to a study released last fall. This is all at risk if we don’t act now.

Work with ME

First, we are asking Gov. Mills to remove the 14-day quarantine for out-of-state travelers coming in to Maine. There are other measures that can be taken to still effectively keep Mainers and visitors safe.

We understand that lifting the quarantine doesn’t put us back to normal, but it does give us the opportunity to enforce personal responsibility. If we are going to get anywhere, we need to start today with lifting the quarantine.

Read our plan. Follow us on Facebook. Add your voice. Contact elected officials. Say that you want them to Work with ME to re-open Maine’s tourism economy safely.
